"Three of my children, two boys and a girl participated in Zen Martial Arts under the instruction of Sensi Allan Torress and Sensi Bruce Gonseth. Under their instruction, my children learned self-discipline, they learned how to follow instructions, and they learned how to interact with and work as a team with the other students. Additionally, my children learned self-defense skills and strengthened both their bodies and their minds. As part of their instruction, there were discussions on how to deal with adversities, such as bullying, the importance of respecting parents and cooperating with siblings and teachers in school, as report cards were reviewed at the end of marking periods by Sensi Allan, Sensi Bruce and Carmella Herring, the administrative coordinator. Students were always encouraged to do their best and were always welcomed with patience, understanding, and kindness."
